Very understanding unlike Admiral My very elderly mum had a car insurance policy with Admiral . She had a fall in 2024 breaking a femur meaning driving her was no longer an option. We paid Admiral for a year insurance without her actually driving. It came to renewal time in July 2025 and after another fall she finally accepted it wasnt practical for her to keep the insurance going and we said we would insure the car and drive her around in it. The policy was due to renew in July while she was in hospital but what we didnt realise was we had autorenewal ticked and although the insurance renewal didn't happen as the card was invalid we were still liable and Admiral handed to £108 debt to Ardent to chase. On reciept of the demand from Ardent mum rang up and explained the situation and they were very understanding. Admiral however were not and the response from our intial complaint to them is it was very clear what we had signed up for and they had not case to answer. My point really is there are different ways to handle a situation like this, undoubtly Admiral were in their rights but they showed a total lack of empathy, Ardent however were great and handled the situation with compassion and understanding, thank you
