EasyJet Airline Company Limited, styled as easyJet, is a British low-cost airline headquartered at London Luton Airport.
Like all the other reviews, very similar experience. It seems that when you thought easyjet couldn't aspire to be RyanAir even more than they already are....they outsourced their car bookings to Car Trawler. As no longer primary customers of EasyJet Car or the end hire company you are now a second rate citizen able to be exploited. Booked a mid size hatch listed as a Peugeot 308 or similar from Geneva Airport Swiss side. When I arrive, "No sir you have book a Yaris". I showed them the email saying the class size and as if I was speaking a different language I was told no that the size of a Yaris. The ruse was clear - they were down grading you like it or not - not a option for a family of 4 and a ski bag. So I had the pay another 100 CHF which in fact came out to be £252.24 so got fleeced on some other cost. I was not the only one getting punished as I overheard 2 other 'useless jet' customers having the same pain. Simple solution - the days of saving money on flights and Car hire are over, book direct with the hire company at your destination and take the punishment up front!
I love the opening comment"What went wrong this time?" Hired at Belfast International and was told car hire not on airport. Then same old same old appatently needed a credit card which i do not have. Penalised with additional bill of £200.00 non refundable. If just had up front tranaparency prob would have given 4 0r 5 review. Same feeling as being pick pocketed!
Very bad. They sold an insurance wich the car provider didn't accept. So, lost total money. Don't deal with such scamer.
I recently booked a car through EasyJet Car Rental and had a very disappointing experience. I paid upfront, but when I arrived to collect the vehicle from Drivalia, I was confronted with conditions and charges that EasyJet had never disclosed on their website. I was told that any additional miles would be charged at £0.31 per mile, plus an outrageous £105 admin fee. Admin fee informationnot appeared during the booking process. On top of that, I was informed that the £1500 security deposit could not be split across two credit cards, which again was never mentioned by EasyJet beforehand. Because of these undisclosed rules, I was forced to pay an extra ( double of initial amount) just to get the car I had already booked and paid for. This experience was stressful, time-consuming, and completely avoidable had EasyJet provided accurate information. What should have been a simple rental turned into an expensive and frustrating ordeal. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others to be very careful when booking car hire through EasyJet—hidden charges and missing information made this one of the worst rental experiences I’ve had.
