Never going to book my hotel on this platform. They don't care about refunds or providing you any support. Will switch to other platforms in the future.
I booked and paid for 2 nights on Hotels.com in Hanoi. When I arrived at the street, I could not find the apartment I had booked. I got help from some locals who worked on the street, but they were also unable to find the apartment. I wrote to the host via the Hotels.com app and had one of the locals call the host’s phone number. On the phone, the host said that the apartment was rented out and that I could not stay for the 2 days I had booked. After that, I received a message on WhatsApp from the host. The message said that there were problems with the apartment and included a link to another place where I could stay. By that time, I had already booked another hotel, as I obviously needed a place to sleep. I contacted Hotels.com and requested a refund of the amount I had paid. Hotels.com refused to refund the money because the host had told them that I had cancelled my stay. I did not cancel my stay. Hotels.com apparently protects hotels and hosts more than their own customers. Therefore, I will use my earned bonus nights and close my account with Hotels.com after 15–20 years of membership.
Dear Hotels.com Customer Service, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at Rigoletto Rental Rooms (booking number 72067121017389, October 13–16, 2025). Unfortunately, the room was in very poor condition upon arrival: Several items in the room were broken or damaged The room was dirty and had clearly not been cleaned properly There was a strong sense of humidity and dampness throughout the space Due to these unacceptable conditions, we decided to book another accommodation through Hotels.com instead. We therefore expect a full refund for this booking. Please confirm that you have received this complaint and advise us on the next steps to obtain a refund.
