They don't let me cancel a contract I never signed and it started to smell fishy. I unknowingly inherited the contract by buying a house with an ongoing HUK24 insurance. Towards the ending of it, I got a letter stating it would renew and I owed them. Seeing my name in the letter made me realise they used a legal way to transfer it to my name. The letter I got clearly says I have a right to cancel within 15 days, which starts either when I get that letter or when a new contract begins. So, I contacted them but they told me to create an online account and cancel from there. OK, I created an online account for their webpage and tried to cancel there. But it did not work! A customer representative said I needed to wait till the new year, till the existing contract ends and only then I could cancel the new contract which would be on my name. Guess what? Since the beginning of the year, I am trying to cancel it but now it says it can only be cancelled in 2027, after I forcefully pay them for a year. Customer support do not reply back to my tickets, obviously waiting for the 15-day legal cancel window. I sent them a letter as well but hoping no reply from it, either. I honestly don't know about how good the insurance part of HUK24, but the contract managing experience so far feels like a trap for me. I wanted to cancel it so badly because I already have an uncancelable insurance till 2027 from a bank, and then I would switch to HUK24 as the previous owner of the house said good things about it but at this point I am simply thinking about lawyering up.
