Miller Homes

Beware if you have bought or are thinking of buying a Miller Home at Deer Park. Nice houses in a nice area but we have had big issues that Miller Homes are proving inept at rectifying. Side door is an external opening door that should open outwards but has been put in the wrong way round so that the weather bar is on the inside and it partially opens inwards until the weather bar jams on the skirting. Problem identified on moving-in day and ignored by Miller Homes for over a week, then the site manager aggressively informed my wife that it was how it was meant to be and there was nothing wrong. After three weeks of emails, Miller Homes said that the plans had been changed and an incorrect door had been supplied and they would order another. Four weeks later, a new door arrived with no frame. Miller Homes said that they would turn the old frame around and remove the plaster and cement marks and fill any screw holes. Not acceptable. Another four weeks delay. The door and frame arrived this time 15mm too narrow for the opening! Not to worry Miller Homes were happy to put a 15mm plant down one side of the frame to fill the gap and we could just put up with a narrower door which would also be lopsided in the frame (very nice) I suspect many other houses on the development may also have their side door fitted incorrectly. On top of this, our front door has a large gap between door and frame (still not adjusted), 48 sq/ft of loft completely uninsulated (now rectified), unable to set up an energy account as meters allegedly not commissioned correctly. Very large snagging list, which, to be honest, I would expect from any new build. We have found Miller Homes' after-sales customer service very polite but completely incompetent and we are left with a feeling that they consider us to be too fussy. The sales manager ( At Miller Park ) was very helpful and kept us updated throughout the purchase process, and the team was very quick to resolve any issues we raised.Very clear home demonstration with everything answered on the spot.

Tim M was his usual best sorting out the required rectification and repair work. Knowledgable , skilled, polite and tidy.
