Hello, my name is Mariela Modeva from Bulgaria, a patient of the dental clinic at Reyap Hospital Istanbul. I was treated with you in December 2022 by Dr. Aykut Arık, who operated on me on 15.12.2022. I have paid the amount of 7300 euros for a Hollywood smile, but you were unable to reach the final, as you closed the hospital. I have an amount to receive from Reyap Hospital in the order of about 2300 euros. Please tell me what is the procedure for receiving the rest to complete my treatment at another clinic. Thank you in advance! I will expect an answer in a short period of time!

Reyap patient sent to BHT Clinic My experience with Reyap Hospital was a rollercoaster, and I feel it’s important to share the details so others can make an informed decision. At first, the coordinator, Maria, was excellent in addressing my questions and concerns. She provided all the information I requested to do my own research. However, a few weeks later, I discovered that Reyap Hospital had been involved in a serious scandal involving multiple deaths in the neonatal unit, leading to its permanent closure. This critical information was never communicated to me. Four days before my scheduled gastric sleeve surgery, Maria informed me that the hospital had changed due to remodeling. It was clear she was trying to cover up the scandal. Despite the last-minute change and getting quite nervous, I requested detailed information about the new hospital and surgeons. Everything seemed normal, so I decided to proceed and flew to Istanbul. Upon landing, the situation became increasingly concerning. Maria called me and directed me to a different pickup point, saying they would take me to another hospital. During the call, she claimed she had no information about BHT Clinic. She expressed mistrust about their surgeons due to alleged malpractice complaints. She then attempted to redirect me to another hospital, which did not appear to be an international-standard facility. This was a stressful and confusing moment as I sat at the airport, trying to decide on a major life-altering surgery. I eventually chose to proceed to BHT Clinic. BHT Clinic Experience At BHT Clinic, I was greeted by a translator and admitted. Day 1. involved completing all necessary tests before being taken to my room. However, it was concerning that no one from Reyap visited me during this time. On day 2.I was scheduled for surgery. After completing an ultrasound in the morning, I was supposed to have the endoscopy and surgery around 1 PM. Instead, I waited for over six hours with no updates or explanations. Finally, around 7:30PM, I was taken for surgery, which, thankfully, went smoothly without complications. The nursing staff, especially Milad and Sahar, were fantastic. They were attentive, caring, and visited frequently throughout the day. On day 3. two representatives from Reyap finally showed up. When I shared my concerns about the coordinator, they simply stated she was no longer working with them. However, more issues came up post-surgery. The plan was for me to stay three days in the hospital and three more at a hotel arranged by Reyap. The hotels promised were Mercure Hotel or Ramada Wyndham, but when I was discharged, Just before leaving, we learned the hotel they intended to take us to was not one of the agreed-upon options. At that point, we had enough and demanded they keep their promises. Eventually, they arranged the hotels promised but it took considerable effort and frustration. While I am grateful that my surgery went well and without complications, the experience was overshadowed by a lack of transparency, poor communication, and last-minute changes. The language barrier, rushed processes, and general lack of coordination made this journey more stressful than it needed to be. I urge anyone to thoroughly research, ask every possible question, and ensure you receive exactly what you paid for. The hustle and disorganization turned what should have been a positive experience into a negative one.
