I have rarely encountered a "customer service" department so intent on not serving the customer. My interactions with the administration (specifically signed by Frau Streit and Frau Richter) have been consistently rude and unhelpful. Most recently, they attempted to charge a random "Servicepauschale" (Service Fee) separately from my agreed-upon bi-weekly membership fee. Because this extra charge was never clearly communicated or authorized by me, the transaction failed. Instead of contacting me to clarify, they immediately added a €5.00 penalty fee ("Rücklastschriftgebühr") and sent a payment demand. It feels predatory to hide fees in the fine print and then penalize loyal members when those unannounced charges are flagged by the bank. This fits their pattern of behavior. The communication style is patronizing at best. Need to pause your contract? Expect to be charged anyway while they lecture you about "14-day processing times" for a simple email. Need to cancel? Expect them to perform mathematical gymnastics to extend your contract by months, often suddenly switching the conversation to German just to make the rejection feel colder and more confusing for international members.
Activ Fitness Dielsdorf – Visit on Oct, 2025 I’ve been a member of Activ Fitness for over 5 years and have visited many different locations – all of them were clearly better than this one. At the Dielsdorf gym, groups of young people were loudly blocking machines for long periods, and the instructor with long hair (I don’t know his name) didn’t care at all. Instead of managing the situation, he was joking around with them like they were friends. Meanwhile, reception staff ignored waiting customers and spent 15 minutes chatting. This location feels completely unprofessional and poorly managed. Very disappointing experience.
I would not recommend this gym to anybody! The contracts automatically get extended locking you in for another year.(no warning) If you try cancelling you will be expected to pay the rest even if you have been a member for multiple years, they do not care about their customers. The best they can do is tell you to find somebody to take over your contract but in all honesty the cheapest gyms provide much better facilities, cheaper prices, better contract conditions and customer service. So why would anybody want to join them! I highly recommend to stay away from this company.
The terms and conditions state that membership can be cancelled if moving to another country as long as the member provides a 'Proof of Residence' in said country. ACTIV then proceeds to reject every 'Proof of Residence' attainable from that country. This is not an isolated incident. A search of other reviews and social media platforms will find dozens of similar experiences.
