Terrible communication and excuses still waiting for delivery nine days later I paid for premium postage and it still hasn’t left the country yet . I was told it was taking the leisurely route I mean what sort of customer service is that ????

Made an order out of hurry for some items for my Vespa rally rebuild! I didn’t put the Black Friday voucher which is not automated! I placed an order for a reasonably expensive item (Vespa GS150 racing kit) in March 2025. Supply problems for the item have led to continuous delays with little or no communication. Stock status has suggested various delivery dates all of which have been missed. I have messaged them through their website on numerous occasions to explore alternatives. The latest message on October 8th says that the item is no longer available and to order an alternative, but there is no way to cancel the order if SIP won't answer my messages . One of my messages is to explore a more expensive option, but not even that has resulted in a response. They are also holding on to my money with no possibility of fulfilling the order and are in breach of all current customer rights. This is particularly disappointing since I have been a regular user of their service and found them generally efficient . SIP have really let themselves and me down with this situation. The post script here is that I was able to get a response after finding the right channel on which to communicate and was able to cancel my order - but then SIP made an error and failed to process a refund until I got in touch to chase it up . Compounding an already frustrating problem. It should also be noted that just a few days after finally informing everyone that the item was out of stock and unlikely to be available in the foreseeable future - and subsequent to me cancelling the order - the item became available at an increased price . Of course I reordered and everything then seemed to go well. I still feel that communication was poor on this occasion and a I am a bit aggrieved at having to reorder this kit at the increased price. Had SIP been clearer about likely availability - I would not have cancelled my order and would have received the item at the original price . Expectations for this kit have been high amongst GS owners and I imagine they have been caught out by a mixture of strong demand and unforeseen supply issues . Mistakes happen and I see from the response to this review that SIP recognise the need to improve. On a more positive note - the new order was delivered without delay and is of a very high quality . I am happy with the item and pleased to see that normal service seems to have been resumed at SIP.
